Splice Coming to PS3!

That’s right! Later this year, we’re going to be self-publishing Splice on the PS3. This week we’re honored to be showing off Splice as part of the PlayStation booth at E3. Check out more on our featured PlayStation blog post.

We’re shooting for a late summer to early fall release. We’re also hoping to include optional PlayStation Move support. Be sure to keep an eye out for Splice on the PSN!

Splice in Another Humble Bundle!

Splice is gonna be in the latest Humble Bundle. Boosh.

The addition will go live today (on Tuesday, March 12th) at 11:00 AM PDT (2:00 PM EDT).

The sweetest thing about this promo is that it’s cross-platform: you’ll get Splice (and a metric buttload of other cool games) not only for Android, but on Macs, PCs, and Linux; you’ll even get Steam keys. Achievement unlocked.

To get all these games on a ton of different platforms, all you have to do is donate more than the average donation (currently, $6.65).

Sweet deal. Get it!

Google Play Features Splice!

That’s right! Splice is now available in the Google Play store for Android, and we’ve already seen some great reviews!

James Gilmore at Pocket Gamer remarks, Splice is a minimalistic marvel, and its elegant presentation and testing challenges have helped it earn numerous accolades since its release – including our highest honour, the Pocket Gamer Platinum Award. Splice: Tree of Life is a real treat for puzzle fans, and one of the best mobile games of the year.”

With our new website, now you can also get Splice and both soundtrack albums—Flight of Angels and Algorithms & Angelology—through the new Cipher Prime Store! For more reviews of Splice, be sure to check out the Splice Announcements page.

Splice: IndieCade Nominee

Awards!

It seems Splice was kissed by Lady Luck! In June, Intel announced Splice as Puzzle Genre winner of the Intel Level Up competition. In July, Penny Arcade announced Splice as one of this year’s 10 best indie games in the PAX 10 selection. We were also nominated for the Philly Geek Awards as Indie Game Dev of the Year. And just this week, Splice was nominated for the IndieCade Awards!

IndieCade is the International Festival of Independent Games, held annually during the first weekend of October in Culver City, CA. This year, 36 games have been selected, including the KickStarted FTL: Faster Than Light, Amanita Designs’ Botanicula, and Shawn McGrath’s DYAD, just to name a few of our favorites.

Kickstarter Update!

Also, yesterday we posted a Kickstarter update. The post should bring everyone up to speed on where we’re at, and where we’re going in the near future. Backers also get a 66% discount on Splice!

Dev Night!

And last night’s Dev Night was awesome! Big shout out to everyone that was able to make it. Projects are coming along wonderfully, and it was great seeing a few new faces show up as well!

Although we’re heading to PAX next week, Dev Night is still on for Thursday as usual. Aaron will be sticking around to man the fort and host. If you are going to PAX, be sure to look us up! We’ll be exhibiting Splice for Mac, PC, and iPad at the PAX 10 booth. You can also tweet at and follow us on Twitter @CipherPrime.

See you next week at PAX Prime and Dev Night!

Splice Screenshot Challenge

If you missed out on the chance to snag one of the Steam game codes given away on Twitter this week—no worries—we’ve got another opportunity here for you to get your hands on free games from Cipher Prime!

The point of this challenge is to be creative with the game mechanics. We want to see what interesting imagery people can come up with given the structures available in Splice. We’ll be selecting up to 7 screenshots to be featured as downloadable desktop backgrounds. Entries should be taken at the highest resolution available and in full-screen mode .

Take screenshots using the Steam client and add them to your Steam profile’s library of screenshots. To submit your entry, post a link of the full-size screenshot image to the Splice Screenshot Challenge forum thread. If you can wow the pants off us, we’ll offer you up a free Steam key to one of Cipher Prime’s games of your choosing. Exceptional screenshots will be credited with your name and made available for download as desktop backgrounds through the Splice Community Page on Steam.

The challenge will continue until all 7 screenshots have been chosen. So fire up Steam, hop on into Splice, start feverishly mashing that F12 key, and show us what you got!

Ready. Set. Post away!

Splice Featured in the PAX 10!

Splice made the PAX 10 selection! Turns out we’ll be at PAX Prime this year after all! This is a huge accomplishment for us, and we couldn’t be happier and more grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside some of the great indie developers of today. If you’re going to be at PAX Prime, be sure to come by and visit us at our booth. We’ll be giving away tons of swag! Plus, you’ll have a chance to play our games and talk with the developers.

As you may well know, the Steam Summer Sale is currently in full swing. As part of the sale, all Cipher Prime games are 50% off through July 23rd. These include Splice, the Splice Soundtrack DLC, the Splice Soundtrack Edition bundle, Fractal : Make Blooms Not War, and Auditorium. For the duration of the sale, we’ve also dropped the price of the Flight of Angels album on Bandcamp.

Get ‘em while they’re hot!

Splice Update Released

Updates to Splice, Splice Demo, and Splice Soundtrack released on Steam this week. The updates are applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted.
